Hello, I’m Richard Barker and I’m a fully qualified DSA Registered Driving Instructor (Car) and Pass Plus Registered.
I am a member of the following associations:
The Driving Instructors Association (DIA),
The Motor Schools Association (MSA),
Forest of Dean and Wye Valley Driving Instructors Association.
I have also had an Enhanced CRB Check
I have been a successful instructor now for a number of years and am well known in the area for having not only a unique car, making lessons enjoyable but most importantly achieving consistent high pass rates and in particular, first time passes!
I follow the DSA syllabus and tailor my courses specifically to the individual as in my experience no two clients are the same. I have also had successful clients pass their test who have been affected by conditions such as dyslexia or dyspraxia. In these circumstances I have always sought professional advice to ensure the teaching methods are adjusted.
I pride myself in being extremely relaxed, friendly and above all very, very patient, a bonus if you’re extremely nervous!
My aim is for you to have fun and enjoy the whole driving experience, and hopefully you’ll learn quicker and really look forward to each lesson.
It will soon become compulsory for all Driving Instructors to continue with their Professional Development (CPD) with their achievements published, thus making it easier to choose an instructor who is not only the most qualified and professional but who cares passionately for their profession, and who is constantly striving to grow their own knowledge base for the benefit of you, the client.
Although this is only a voluntary requirement at present, over the last 18 months I have achieved the following qualifications:
